Iraqi government negotiates with Washington on exit of foreign forces from Iraq

BAGHDAD, Sept. 10 (YPA) – Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, revealed on Sunday that Iraqi Defense Minister, Thabet Al-Abbasi, discussed in the United States last month the exit of foreign forces from Iraq.

“The presence of the international alliance forces in Iraq since 2014 is one of the important and sensitive issues whose fate must be determined today,” Al-Sudani said, in statements reported by the Iranian “Tasnim” agency.

He pointed out that “the security capacity of Iraq exists in the police, the army, the popular mobilization forces, etc., so that it can guarantee the security of the country.”
