Assailants storm three schools in Lahj

LAHJ, Sep. 02 (YPA) – Unknown assailants stormed on Saturday and stole contents of three government schools in Al-Wahd area of Tuban district of Lahj province, south of Yemen.

Local sources said that the unknown persons looted the windows of the Martyr Iqbal Girls School for Basic Education in Al-Wahd area, coinciding with the start of the new academic year.

The sources indicated that the school administration was surprised that 60 aluminum windows of the school had been stolen.

A battery system and solar panels were also stolen from Amjerba Basic Education School and Sabr Kindergarten in the same district, which they had obtained from organizations as support for the two schools.

The residents were surprised that the thieves managed to loot the school and take out the stolen from the three schools on the same day and passed through the security points of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias without doing anything, hinting at their involvement in the robbery.
