UAE-funded armed factions attack tribes in Mocha

TAIZ, Sep. 02 (YPA) – Fierce clashes broke out on Saturday between the tribes and the UAE-backed forces in Al-Wazi’iyah area of Mocha district of Taiz province.

Local sources reported that the clashes between factions, led by the leader Tariq Afash, nephew of the former President Ali Abdullah Selah, came after Tariq’s forces waged an attack a number of tribal militants, using medium arms.

Tariq’s forces pre-empted the latest attack, claiming to thwart an infiltration attempt by the Sanaa forces between Al-Wazi’iyah and Mocha, even though those areas are under the control of factions affiliated with the coalition.
