President Al-Mashat praises Oman’s endeavors to bring peace to Yemen
SANAA, Aug. 20 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, on Sunday lauded the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts to achieve peace in Yemen, despite the Saudi-led coalition countries’ intransigence.
This came during his meeting earlier today with the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman at the Presidency House in Sanaa, before its departure.
Al-Mashat emphasized that continuing the current situation, in which the people of Yemen live in light of the war and all manifestations of siege and starvation, and transferring the humanitarian entitlements represented by paying the salaries of all state employees, re-opening Sanaa International Airport, and removing all restrictions imposed on the ports of Hodeida to a topic of negotiation, is no longer acceptable.
He stated that Sanaa is committed to a just peace that protects the rights of the Yemeni people, as seen by its previous actions, and that it is now up to the coalition countries to prove their seriousness in peace by presenting practical steps to implement the Yemeni people’s demands as a humanitarian and rightful priority.
Al-Mashat said that the time is not open for the enemy to continue evading the just humanitarian entitlements of the Yemeni people, since the enemy’s continued prevarication and gaining time would bring him outcomes he does not want.
