UAE-backed STC mobilizes its forces in Mahra

MAHRA, Aug. 16 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) mobilized its forces on Wednesday in Mahra province, in eastern Yemen.

This coincides with arrangements for the return of Rashad Al-Alimi, the president of the so-called “Presidential Leadership Council,” loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, to Aden.

The journalist and leading member of the STC, Amjad Sobeih, revealed the readiness of the STC’s armed factions and they are awaiting orders.

Sobeih’s remarks coincided with the talk of the STC media outlets about the movement of al-Qaeda elements from Abyan province to the border areas between Hadramout and Mahra provinces, a step that may aim to justify the deployment of more reinforcements by the STC in Mahra.
