MAHRA, Aug 16 (YPA) – One of the special units of the Saudi forces arrived on Wednesday at Al Ghaydah Airport in Yemen’s eastern province of Mahra.
Local sources familiar with the matter reported that those forces reached the airport to protect the head of the Saudi-formed Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, who is scheduled to arrive in Mahra in the coming hours.
Since the end of 2017, the Saudi-led coalition has turned the airport into a joint US-British military base with the Zionist entity on the Arabian Sea, and closed it to civilian flights.
On the other hand, the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council” pushed military reinforcements towards the city of Ataq, the provincial capital of Shabwa, to confront the so-called al-Qaeda organization and the Islah militias present.
