STC announces thwarting attack with anti-aircraft missiles north of Aden

LAHJ, Aug. 09 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) announced on Tuesday that it had thwarted the second armed operation with anti-aircraft missiles north of Aden city.

Media outlets of the STC confirmed that the “security belt” checkpoint in Al-Husseini area, north of Al-Houta city, the center of Lahj province, seized military boxes full of 37 mm anti-aircraft shells on board a bus that was traveling towards Al-Anad road, north of Aden.

The Security Belt elements confiscated the seized items and opened an investigation with the driver of the bus amid accusations against the Islah Party of transporting weapons and ammunition to carry out armed operations inside the city.

This comes after the STC’s factions seized detonators and a shipment of various weapons in mid-July, which were hidden under soil on board a large truck at the western entrance to the city of Aden in the Ras Omran area, coming from Lahj.
