MARIB, Aug 01 (YPA) – A powerful explosion on late Monday rocked parts of the city of Marib, northeastern Yemen, which is under the control of Saudi-led coalition forces.
According local sources, an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on the main road near the Ben Ma’ili station in Al-Wadi district, east of Marib, exploded and targeted a military pickup vehicle belonging to Islah militants.
The explosion left the vehicle engulfed in flames, the sources said, adding that no casualties have been reported.
Attacks on Islah-affiliated forces in Marib has escalated, in a sign of growing tribal anger at the party’s authorities that run the city and some of its districts.
