SANAA, July. 31 (YPA) – Minister of Defense in the Sanaa government, Major General Mohammed Nasser Al-Atefi, revealed on Monday a scenario of upcoming naval battle with Saudi-led coalition forces.
Al-Atefi affirmed that the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, the Gulf of Aden, and the vital and strategic area of the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, would be the geopolitical scope of the Sanaa’s armed forces and the defense policy of Yemen.
During an expanded meeting of the Naval Forces Command, Al-Atefi announced that Sanaa has the full ability to secure, protect and stabilize international shipping routes along all of Yemen’s sovereign territorial waters.
The Minister praised the success of the recent tests conducted by the naval forces on a number of naval missiles and modern and advanced gunboats.
“What the enemy is doing in terms of occupation and imposing aggressive maritime control over ports, islands and territorial waters is terrorism in itself,” Al-Atefi explained. “The illegal presence of the occupation in Yemeni territorial waters will have a very high cost.”
He added, “We will face the challenge with challenge, escalation with escalation, bombing with bombing, occupation with resistance, maneuvers with practical application, and peace with peace.”
