High-Level International Conference on Two-State Solution kicks off in New York

NEW YORK, July 28 (YPA) – high-level international conference aimed at advancing a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue and implementing the two-state solution will kick off on Monday in New York City, co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France.

The conference, which runs through July 30, brings together a wide range of participants, including United Nations member states, international and regional organizations, specialized UN agencies, and civil society groups. Representing the State of Palestine is Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa.

According to the concept note issued by the organizers, the conference aims to generate renewed momentum for the Palestinian cause by building on existing national, regional, and international initiatives. It seeks to adopt concrete measures to uphold international law and promote a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace that ensures security for all.

The conference serves as a platform to reaffirm international support for the two-state solution and to plan and coordinate steps toward its implementation. The overarching goal is to end the occupation and establish an independent and sovereign State of Palestine in accordance with international law, relevant UN resolutions, the Madrid framework, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The conference includes roundtable discussions and a general session featuring opening remarks by the co-chairs, Saudi Arabia and France.

Additional statements are expected from UN General Assembly President Dennis Francis, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, state representatives, and observer delegations. The event will conclude with a closing session on July 30.
