Saudi journalist confirms start of removing STC’s factions from Aden
ADEN, July 27 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) began on Thursday transferring its troops from inside Aden Province to camps outside the province, southern Yemen.
The Saudi journalist, Ali Al-Areshi, said in a tweet: “Today, the STC started implementing the security aspect of the “Riyadh agreement”, which had stalled two years ago, by removing its remaining forces in Aden to places identified by the Saudi-led coalition leadership.”
The Saudi journalist’s statements come in conjunction with the deployment of units of the “Dera’ al-Watan” factions loyal to Saudi Arabia in separate areas in the al-Buraiqa district in Aden.
Sources had confirmed earlier that the STC had transferred the “First Support Brigade” from its camp in the al-Buraiqa district to “Al-Barq” Mountain in Ja’ar area of Abyan province.
