HADRAMOUT, July. 27 (YPA) – Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Islah Party announced on Thursday its joining the so-called Hadramout Council, after the Saudi pressure to expel it from the oil-rich province.
Southern media quoted the head of the executive office of the Islah party in Hadramout, Mohammed Ziyad, confirming his signature on the so-called Hadrami Honor Charter, according to which the pro-Saudi Hadramout National Council was formed and defines its tasks.
Although the Islah Party was one of the most prominent participants in Riyadh negotiations regarding the formation of the Hadramaut Council, it still hesitated to sign the honor charter to get involved in the council, which might reduce its influence in the province.
Al-Islah’s signing came one day after the Hadramout authority announced the establishment of a new outlet in Al-Wadiah crossing, which could end its most important economic gains and pave the way for expelling its forces from the oil plateau.
The Party is trying, through the signature, not to provoke Saudi Arabia that pushes all its weight at this time to keep the oil province under its tutelage.
