WORLD, July 26 (YPA) – At least eight people were injured on Tuesday as a result of an earthquake measuring four on the Richter scale that hit the cities of Adana and Osmaniye, southern Turkey.
The Turkish news agency ” Anadolu ” quoted Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca saying in a statement via “Twitter” that “Two people were injured in the state of Adana, and six in the state of Osmaniye as a result of the tremor. They were transferred to hospitals for treatment.”
The tremor caused minor material damage to homes and buildings, and spread panic among residents, according to officials.
According to a statement issued by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD), the tremor was at a depth of 11.27 kilometers in the Kozan region of Adana.
It is worth mentioning that two devastating earthquakes struck southern Turkey, the first with a magnitude of 7.7, and the second 7.6 degrees, followed by thousands of violent aftershocks, killing thousands, in addition to causing massive destruction.
