Commander escapes assassination attempt in Mukalla

HADRAMOUT, July. 25 (YPA) – Head of the Supreme Council for the Revolutionary Movement, Yahya Paras, escaped on Tuesday a failed assassination attempt in the city of Mukalla, the provincial capital of Hadramout.

Activists in the province said that unknown gunmen on a motorbike tried to assassinate Paras, by opening a hail of bullets on his car, and fled.

The Supreme Council of the Southern Revolutionary Movement in Hadramout had issued a statement two days ago, declaring its refusal to try to push the province into the furnace of conflicts between Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The coalition-held areas have witnessed an escalating state of security chaos and assassinations, according to human rights activists, “the murderers and criminals usually escape arrest because of the cover provided by the coalition factions.”
