ABYAN, July. 25 (YPA) – A commander loyal to the UAE-backed factions was killed on Tuesday in al-Qaeda attack in Abyan province, south of Yemen.
In a statement by the so-called of “3rd Brigade Support” said that Saddam Hussein Al-Saadi was killed in the explosion of an explosive device planted by Al-Qaeda element in the village of Al-Baqira in Wadi Omran area of Mudiyah district.
The statement added that Al-Saadi was on a mission to pursue Al-Qaeda members within the framework of Operation Arrows of the East that the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias carried out in the province.
The blast targeted a military vehicle which Al-Saadi was traveling in, killing also two recruits, it added.
