LAHJ, July. 20 (YPA) – Massive smoke clouds covered the sky of the city of Saber of Lahj province, south of Yemen, in popular protests on the economic collapse sweeping the areas of southern and eastern Yemen.
Local sources said that dozens of protesters burned tires on the main street in the city, which impeded the traffic linking the provinces of Aden and Lahj.
The protesters chanted expressions condemning the coalition, demanding work to tackle the situation and the return of electricity that has been cut off in the province since last Sunday.
The coalition-held other provinces have witnessed similar protests, denouncing the collapse of the local currency, the rise in food commodity prices, and the collapse of electricity service in light of the high temperature.
