SHABWA, July 19 (YPA) – A woman was killed and three others, including a child, were wounded on Wednesday by a gunman in Shabwa province, which is under the control of UAE-funded factions.
Informed sources confirmed that a gunman believed to belong to the “Shabwa Defense” factions named “Abdel Nasser” shot and killed his sister in the Ridan neighborhood in Bayhan district, due to family disputes.
The sources indicated that the gunman prevented paramedics to reach the victims by force of arms, confirming the injury of the daughter along with two others who tried to approach to rescue the woman and her daughter, according to activist Ali Al-Nassi.
Security chaos is ravaging oil-rich Shabwa due to the absence of state authorities amid the spread of factions loyal to the UAE, which have perpetuated a culture of fighting and revenge among tribesmen and supporting them with money and weapons in exchange for staying in those areas.
