LAHJ, July 19 (YPA) – The brother of a prominent tribal sheikh was killed on Wednesday in armed clashes in the western province of Lahj, which is under the control of coalition forces.
Tribal sources said that the brother of the sheikh of Ras al-Ara area in the coastal Mudaraba district, Saif Mohammed al-Nimr, was killed by gunmen from Al-Fatiha tribe, indicating that the armed confrontations broke out due to the acquisition of financial royalties in the region.
The sources pointed out that the tribal influencers became agents of leaders in the factions of “Southern Transitional Council” affiliated to UAE and pro-Saudi factions in order to collect royalties from smuggling revenues in those areas near Bab-el-Mandeb strait.
