SANAA, July. 16 (YPA) – The Supreme Economic Committee in Sanaa accused on Sunday the Saudi-led coalition’s countries of being behind deterioration of living conditions in Yemen’s south.
The committee affirmed in a statement that the deteriorating economic and living situation in the coalition-held areas has been come as a result of the corruption of the coalition forces plundering the people’s capabilities and wealth for over eight years.
“The coalition’s allegations about the causes of the deterioration of the economic and living conditions in the south of Yemen no longer deceive any of the Yemeni people, north and south,” the statement said.
The deterioration and devaluation of local currency was a result of a deliberate and planned action by the coalition, which has worked to transfer the functions of the Central Bank from Sanaa to Aden for nearly seven years, suspending the salaries of state employees, doubling the suffering the Yemeni people.
The statement pointed out that the coalition countries are still insisting on plundering the revenues of sovereign wealth for their personal accounts, rejecting all solutions that guarantee the use of these revenues to alleviate the suffering of all our Yemeni people, especially citizens in the south areas.
The statement held the coalition countries fully responsible for what the Yemeni people have suffered since the start of the war, the siege, the economic war, and the systematic looting of Yemen’s capabilities.
