LAHJ, July. 13 (YPA) – A wave of angry popular protests witnessed on Thursday the streets of the city of Al-Habilain in Lahj province, southern Yemen, to condemn the rise in food prices and the unprecedented devaluation of the local currency.

The protesters raised banners attacking the coalition countries for their role in targeting the national economy, blaming the Saudi-formed Presidential Leadership Council the responsible for the deterioration of living conditions.

The participants, who blocked a number of streets in the city, called on the coalition-backed government to intervene to tackle the deteriorating economic situation that contributes to exacerbating their suffering.
