Al-Harizi pledges to thwart UAE’s attempt to loot Yemen’s wealth of gold

MAHRA, July. 12 (YPA) – Head of Mahra sit-in committee and a former deputy governor of Mahra province, Ali al-Harizi, pledged on Wednesday to thwart the UAE’s attempts to loot the province’s wealth of gold.

“From time to time, we see the Americans coming to Al-Ghaydah Airport, the British as well, as well as the Emiratis and the Saudis, who are planting intelligence agents in all state facilities,” he said while chairing a meeting of Mahra sit-in committee, according to media sources.

“The UAE has intentions to plunder the wealth of Qishn area of the eastern Mahra through the Dubai company,” al-Harizi added. “This company is on the blacklist because it stole the country’s wealth.

He accused the Dubai company in Mukalla of stealing gold from the Hajar district of Hadramout at a time when the people of Hadramout die of hunger.

“This company also steals gold from Africa and Sudan, and now wants to reach Qishn and to rent it for 50 years,” he went on to say.

Al-Harizi held Saudi Arabia responsible for what the Yemeni people are exposed to in terms of famine and the collapse of the local currency, stressing that Saudi Arabia prevented Yemen from extracting and benefiting from its wealth.
