Islah militants suppress STC demonstration in Seiyun

HADRAMOUT, July 08 (YPA) – A military force belonging to the “First Military Region” loyal to Saudi-led coalition forces stormed on Friday the event called for by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the city of Seiyun in the eastern Yemeni province of Hadramout.

Local media reported that recruits from the “First Military Region” affiliated with Islah party broke up the “Land Day” event called for by the STC.

In the first response to the crackdown, the STC held Islah elements responsible for suppressing the event and its consequences.

This comes a day after media reports sated that military options are on the table in Seiyun to expel Islah elements.
