HADRAMOUT, July 07 (YPA) – Gunmen stormed, on Friday afternoon, a festival called by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), in the city of Seiyun, Hadramout province.
According to the sources, the armed elements stormed the festival and fired heavily in the center of Seiyun city, and tore up the banners of the event.
The sources confirmed that the gunmen belong to Al Kathir tribe, who refused to respond to the STC’s call to gather in Seiyun.
According to Eyewitnesses, confrontations erupted between supporters of the STC and members of the Al Kathir tribe, leaving number of injuries,
Meanwhile, the local leadership of the STC, in Hadramout governorate, blamed the forces of the First Military Region affiliated with Islah party for storming the peaceful festival in the courtyard of Sultan Al-Kathiri Palace in the city of Seiyun.
