Sanaa Economic Committee views US, UK, France’s statements as continuation of economic war

SANAA, June 30 (YPA) – The Supreme Economic Committee in Sanaa confirmed on Friday that the statement of the ambassadors of America, Britain, and France revealed the insistence of the countries they represent to continue the economic war against the Yemeni people.

The committee said in a statement that the statement of America, Britain, and France showed the continuation of these countries in fallacies, twisting the facts and underestimating the humanitarian demands and just rights of the Yemeni people, especially the salaries of state employees in Yemen.

It emphasized that “America, Britain, and France were and still are the spearhead and mastermind of the aggression and siege on Yemen, and they use the economy as a war card in a way that is no longer a secret to anyone.”

The committee stated that America, Britain, and France were the ones who planned and gave the green light to transfer the functions of the Central Bank from Sanaa to Aden and cut the salaries of state employees and pensions, and they are working today openly to prevent any efforts to disburse salaries and even they described the demand for their disbursement as “extremist demands.”

In its statement, the committee also confirmed that the decision to prevent the looting of sovereign wealth came to protect and preserve the rights of the Yemeni people and to prevent the use of its revenues in war.

The Supreme Economic Committee considered the payment of salaries of state employees a right of the Yemeni people that can be covered by part of the oil and gas revenues, and there is no complication in that except that America, Britain, and France want to deprive the Yemeni people of those revenues and even use them against them.
