Citizen who set himself on fire in protest of Aden authorities’ arbitrariness dies
ADEN, June 21 (YPA) – The citizen, Wezr Abdou Ahmed Al-Hubaishi, from Taiz province, died on Wednesday from injuries he sustained after setting himself on fire in front of a local authority building in Aden city, southern Yemen.
On Tuesday, Al-Hubaishi had set himself on fire to protest the burning of his livelihood stall, by gangs affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).
Sources in the city of Aden said that the Security Directorate of Sheikh Othman refused the entry of the investigation committee formed by the governor of Aden, Ahmed Lamlas, to investigate the matter.
As a result, angry protests broke out today in the Sheikh Othman district, demanding justice for “Al-Hubaishi” and the speedy bringing of the perpetrators to justice.
