ADEN, June 15 (YPA) – The UAE-affiliated Southern Transitional Council (STC) has announced that it had taken the military option to overthrow the “Leadership Council” and the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in the southern and eastern provinces of Yemen.
Deputy President of the STC, Ahmed Saeed bin Burik, described the military meeting he held today, Thursday, with the leaders of his armed factions in Aden city as a “proactive process” to face the challenges and to mobilize the national material and human energies to abort them in their infancy,” in an explicit and clear threat.
Observers considered that the STC is heading to overthrow the leadership council and the government headed by Moeen Abdulmalik, in conjunction with the deterioration of living conditions and the terrible economic collapse in those provinces.
According to the STC official website, bin Burik addressed the STC factions leaders in the meeting by saying, “We stand today at a crossroads and fateful turns, which require us to fight this existential battle with competence and to bear the historical responsibility at this crucial moment in which there is no choice but victory and then victory, and at any cost.”
He urged the STC leaders to “identify the direct mechanisms that should be followed in promoting the political choices taken by the leadership of the council in response to the will of the people of the southern and eastern province,” as he said.
