QAIRO, June 11 (YPA) – Yemen’s ambassador of the coalition-backed government, Mohammad Marem, demanded on Sunday the Egyptian authorities to deport Yemenis from the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
Sources familiar with the matter said the ambassador sent a memorandum to the Egyptian authorities to deport a Yemeni volunteer Dr. Najeeb Hassan, a head of the Yemeni Initiative in Egypt, who provides services to the Yemeni community in Egypt.
Hassan offered his services to Yemenis visiting Egypt through his Facebook page, which angered Marem residing in Cairo.
The sources pointed to the escalating dissatisfaction of the Yemeni community in Egypt with Marem’s continuous actions in his demands to deport Yemenis from Egypt on an ongoing basis.
Media outlets affirmed that the practices of Marem, who was previously involved in selling scholarships for scholarship students to Egypt, aroused the discontent of the Egyptian authorities, which have worked to reduce the privileges and exemptions granted to the Yemeni embassy.
