STC faction leader in Abyan seizes citizens’ property

ABYAN, June 07 (YPA) – A leader in the UAE-affiliated Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions seized large lands owned by citizens in Abyan province, southern Yemen, human rights sources reported on Tuesday.

The sources stated that the commander of “Dofas” checkpoint, Salem Al-Haiyj, seized lands of citizens in “Al-Koud” area by force of arms.

According to the sources, al-Haiyj also brought equipment accompanied by several military vehicles to bulldoze the land of the locals, which sparked intense resentment among the locals, and may lead to clashes between the two sides.
