Gunmen loot engineer’s car in Abyan

ABYAN, June 04 (YPA) – Gunmen looted on Sunday a car belonging to an official at the Hassan Dam project in Khanfar district in Abyan province, southern Yemen.

According to local sources in the province, the armed elements looted the car of an engineer in the Hassan Dam project at gunpoint and took it to an unknown destination.

The sources mocked the interception and looting of the car despite of the presence of a military battalion of the so-called “Third Infantry Brigade” loyal to Saudi-led coalition to project the equipment.

The sources pointed out that the contractor completely stopped work on the dam project and stopped about 60 heavy equipment.

Over the past decade, al-Qaeda elements looted the equipment of the Chinese company implementing the Hassan Dam project after they invaded Abyan and the project was halted.
