Car bomb rocks Hadramout’s capital Mukalla

HADRAMOUT, May 30 (YPA) – A car bomb exploded on Tuesday in the center of Mukalla city, the provincial capital of Hadramout, eastern Yemen.

Media outlets sources reported that the car exploded in Ghuwaizi area, leaving victims.
Some sources likely said that the explosion was caused by an explosive device planted in the car.

Activists loyal to Saudi Arabia accused the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council of standing behind the explosion as a pretext for the control of its factions that Abu Dhabi brought in during the past two weeks to the city of Mukalla, which is under the control of the pro-UAE factions, as part of its recent efforts to control the districts of Wadi Hadramout.

In early May, an explosion occurred in Al-Dais neighborhood towards Al-Ghuwaizi area, following the visit of the Saudi Support commander, Sultan Al-Baqami, to the city, during which he could be able to limit the spread of factions loyal to the Emirates at Al-Wadiah border crossing with Saudi Arabia.
