Pro-coalition authorities jail elderly woman in Taiz

TAIZ, May 29 (YPA) -Saudi-led coalition’s authorities took an elderly woman and put her in one of their prisons in Taiz governorate.

According to human rights sources in the city, the “head of the Sabr Court” ordered the arrest of Asmaa Ahmed Sultan, 65, and put her in a prison following  a civil case.

The sources considered it as a dangerous precedent against a woman over her sixth decade.

The sources explained that the head of the court rejected interventions to release the woman on the pretext that she did not fulfill the foresight of the sale to her and her sister to one of the buildings in the city.

The sources pointed out that he detained the woman despite submitting an appeal with legal defenses to the court, indicating that the case was issued legal rulings supported by the “appeal”.
