The play of Saudi-Emirati conflict continues to divide Yemen

HADRAMOUT, may 23 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia breaks its silence and finally moves to thwart the UAE’s projects that it wants to achieve in Hadramout governorate through the Southern Transitional Council (STC), which has intensified its moves during the last period to include the governorate in its project that it wants in southern Yemen with the support and funding of the UAE.

Saudi moves to abort the UAE’s plan in Hadramawt governorate were evident by summoning the head of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, and his deputy, Faraj al-Bahsani, and cutting off their participation in the meetings of the “National Assembly of the STC” held in Mukalla before the General Assembly of the STC concluded its work, and transporting them to Riyadh via a private plane in light of expectations that they will be detained in Riyadh, and preventing them from returning to Mukalla to participate in the meetings.

It seems that Saudi Arabia is determined to end the presence of the STC in the province, especially as it excluded it from the negotiations taking place in Riyadh “to form the Hadramout delegation, headed by the governor of Hadramout Mabkhout bin Madi and Amr bin Habrish, the first deputy of  Hadramout, with the participation of about 40 political and social senior figures of the province

According to observers, the speech of bin Habrish during the opening of the meetings, in which he said: “Hadramout will only be represented by its sons.  The so-called “Hadramout Inclusive Conference”, which he chairs and the reference of the tribal alliance are the only forces representing the oil-rich province”, confirms that Saudi Arabia has resolved the issue of ending the in Hadramout.

According to observers, Saudi Arabia’s summons of al- Zubaidi and Al-Bahsani to Riyadh in light of the great expectation of their detention, and preventing them from returning to Mukalla comes within the framework of subjugating al-Zubaidi, especially since this summons was accompanied by a Saudi threat to impose international sanctions on him in the event of his insistence on escalation in Hadramout.

Saudi Arabia sees the UAE, its partner in the war on Yemen, as a competitor in the province, which seeks to control and acquire it within the framework of its own agenda, so it seeks to remove the UAE from this province, which represents a strategic goal in Saudi Arabia’s war on Yemen.
