WORLD, May 20 (YPA) – The Zionist Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said that normalization with Saudi Arabia, which the Israeli government considers a priority, “is not a question of if, but when,” stressing that there are common interests between the two countries.
In an interview with the Jerusalem Post, Cohen said that “one of the areas where he is seeking breakthroughs is further normalization with the Arab and Muslim world.”
Cohen is able to dive into this work because he was intelligence minister at the time of the signing of the Abraham Accords and was a key figure pushing for relations between ‘Israel’ and Sudan, as well as other Muslim countries in Africa and Asia.
On normalization with Saudi Arabia, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said was a priority, Cohen said: “It’s not a question of if, but when. We and Saudi Arabia have the same interests.”
Cohen said that normalization between Riyadh and Tehran will not be an obstacle between us and Riyadh, because it is a “façade”, claiming that Iran is Saudi Arabia’s number one enemy, as the Kingdom will do anything to prevent the Iranians from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
