Sanaa calls for WFP to develop studies for food security in Yemen

SANAA, May 17 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Sana’a government, Hisham Sharaf, called for the World Food Program (WFP) for post-war food security in Yemen.

This came during his meeting on Wednesday with the World Food Programme’s regional chief, Corinne Fleischer, and her accompanying delegation.

In the meeting, Sharaf stressed the importance of intensifying the STC’s efforts in terms of increasing humanitarian assistance to the displaced internally persons, including facilitating their return to their areas.

In her turn, the WFP’s official confirmed that the humanitarian situation in Yemen occupies a priority in the program’s agenda, noting that there is a funding gap that has led to a failure in the program’s implementation of its projects in Yemen.
