Pro-coalition gov’t takes suspicious measures against ‘Yemen Mobile’ in Aden

ADEN, May 17 (YPA) – The government loyal to Saudi-led coalition has taken suspicious measures, targeting one of the most vital and economic sectors, which is one of the unifying symbols of Yemeni identity.

Pro-coalition Media outlets reported that the General Telecommunications Corporation in Aden issued orders on Monday preventing any maintenance, modernization or development of the communications network of Yemen Mobile in Aden.

Observers said the aims of this step, at this time is to strengthen the steps of separation of the southern governorates from the Republic of Yemen by separating everything linking them to the northern governorates, including the telecommunications company “Yemen Mobile”, which is based in Sana’a.

The announcement by the pro-coalition government to prevent the maintenance of Yemen Mobile’s communications network comes amid vigorous moves by the factions calling for secession with the support of the United States, as the US envoy to Yemen has already shown hints on more than one occasion confirming that Washington does not mind the division of Yemen.
