Heat wave to be expected to hit desert, coastal areas in coming hours

SANAA, May 12 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology is expected a heat wave in the desert and coastal areas during the next 24 hours.

The center said in its daily weather bulletin that the maximum temperatures may range between 34 to 38 degrees Celsius.

It expected sporadic rain also, which may sometimes be accompanied by thunderstorms, in parts of the provinces of Taiz and Ibb, with the possibility of light to moderate rains in different areas of the Socotra archipelago and parts of the western mountainous heights and internal plateaus.

The center warned citizens in the desert and coastal areas of the hot weather, calling for avoiding direct sunshine during the day.

It urged residents in the provinces of Taiz and Ibb to take the necessary precautions due to the continuing rains.
