Meteorology expects heavy rains across Yemen

SANAA, May 03 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology is expected heavy rains in several Yemeni provinces during the coming 24 hours.

The center said, in its weather bulletin on Wednesday, that rains of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, will hit parts of Saada, Taiz, Dhalea, Lahj, Bayda, Abyan and Shabwa, Amran, Hajjah, Mahweet, Sanaa, Dhamar, Raymah and Ibb.

It pointed to the possibility of sporadic rain in the deserts of Jawf, Marib, Hadramout, Mahra, the western coasts, Tihama plain, and parts of the Socotra archipelago.

The center warned citizens in areas of heavy rains not to be in the torrential ways and valleys during and after the rains.

The bulletin also warned of a decrease in the range of horizontal visibility on mountainous roads, as well as rockslides due the rainfall.
