Sudanese army announces its control of “Rapid Support Forces” bases in 7 states
KHARTOUM, April 16 (YPA) – The Sudanese army announced on Sunday that its forces had taken control of the bases and headquarters of the Rapid Support Forces in seven states.
Meanwhile, the Forces for Freedom and Change called on the Central Council to stop military confrontations and return to the negotiating table.
The United Nations warned of a further deterioration in terms of the humanitarian situation, which was already deteriorating in Sudan, following the outbreak of fighting in the capital, Khartoum, and various regions of the country.
In a statement posted on Facebook, The Sudanese army said, “The forces took control of the Rapid Support Forces bases in Port Sudan, Kassala, Gedaref, Damazin, Kosti, and Kadugli.”
The statement added that the members of the support forces fled from those locations, leaving all their equipment and vehicles.
