UAE sends new batch of forces to Socotra

SOCOTRA, March 25 (YPA) – The UAE has sent a new batch of its forces to the island of Socotra of Yemen.

Sources familiar with the matte said on Saturday the new military reinforcements to Hadibu Airport came following the visit of the Saudi leader, Sultan Al-Baqami, accompanied by the Minister of Defense in the coalition-backed government, to the island last week.

The sources affirmed that the reinforcements would be transferred to Abd al-Kuri Island, where the UAE military base is stationed there.

A Saudi-led military coalition, which the UAE is a main part of, has intervened in Yemen’s war since 2015.
