Al-Qaeda claims responsibility for bloody attack on UAE militia in Shabwa

SHABWA, March 15 (YPA) –The terrorist Al-Qaeda organization in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has claimed responsibility for the bloody attack on a checkpoint near a military barracks of UAE-backed militias in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

This comes less than 24 hours after a checkpoint belonging to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia was subjected to an attack in the “Al-Safra” area of Usailan district.

The terrorist organization stated in its recent statement that pro-UAE militia members were targeted in an armed attack in Usilan, Shabwa, which resulted in the death and injury of numerous STC fighters.

On the other hand, the “Aden Independent” channel, speaking on behalf of the STC, admitted that a large number of terrorists attacked a military barracks belonging to the “Fifth Brigade of Shabwa Defense” forces in Al-Safra point in the Usailan district yesterday, on Tuesday, killing three recruits and injuring others.
