114 tons of spoiled and expired foodstuffs destroyed in Sanaa

SANAA, March 13 (YPA) – The Bureau of Industry and Trade destroyed on Monday 114 tons of spoiled and expired foodstuffs in the capital Sanaa.

The director of the industry office at the secretariat, Majed al-Sada, explained to the Yemeni news agency (Saba) that the destruction was carried out in accordance with legal procedures, and with the participation of a member of the prosecution of industry and commerce.

He stressed the keenness to strengthen the control and inspection of markets and shops, fixing prices, controlling violations, confiscating and destroying finished and unsuitable materials for consumption in order to ensure consumer protection, especially during the month of Ramadan.
