TEHRAN, March 10 (YPA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, confirmed on Friday that the renewal of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia would provide great potential for the two countries and the region.
“The return of normal relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides great potential for the two countries, the region and the Islamic world,” Abdollahian said on Twitter.
He added that the neighborhood policy, as the main focus of the foreign policy of the thirteenth government, is moving strongly on the right track, and the diplomatic apparatus is actively working towards preparing more regional steps.
Abdollahian announced in a joint statement today that Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed to resume bilateral relations, reopen embassies and representations within two months.
