Donkeys, camels become key means of transportation in oil-rich Shabwa province

SHABWA, March 07 (YPA) – Countries of Saudi-led coalition and their militias have turned oil-rich Shabwa province into a rural village whose residents search for drinking water and their living needs on the backs of donkeys and camels.

In recent weeks, Shabwa has witnessed a controversial return in the use of donkeys and camels as transportation to transport goods due to the lack of oil derivatives in the oil-rich province.

Citizens are using donkeys and camels to bring goods and water to remote areas in the province, amid a complete cut off of fuel and water services in various areas of the governorate.

Residents complained about the lack of the most basic services such as water, health, electricity, high cost of living, a crisis in oil derivatives and manipulation of their prices.

They confirmed their return to using the old means of transportation, represented by camels and donkeys, to transport their needs of foodstuffs and other purposes.

Observers believe that the coalition destroyed all basic services in the governorate, turning it into a small village that lacks all the necessities of life and weakens its economic advantages.
