Civilian assassinated in Abyan

ABYAN, Feb. 24 (YPA) – A citizen was assassinated on Thursday by unknown gunmen in Abyan province, south of Yemen.

Local sources said that the citizen Ali Abdullah Luqa’a al-Walidi was targeted in Amareef area, east of Mudiyah district, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia.

The sources suggested that Al-Walidi was assassinated by a sniper from the militia that controls the district, amid violations against the tribesmen under the pretext of harboring terrorist elements.
