STC threatens to blow up situation in Aden

ADEN, Feb. 14 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia on Tuesday threatened to blow up the military situation in the city of Aden, describing Saudi Arabia and its Riyadh-formed Presidential Council, headed by Rashad al-Alimi, as “fools.”

A member of the Presidency of the STC, Fadel al-Jaadi, said on Twitter Account: “The truth is now more than ever. Today’s south is not like yesterday’s south.”

“The south has claws and fangs to defend itself,” he said, calling on Saudi Arabia and the leaders of its presidential council, which he described as “fools”, to understand the truth.

The STC’s threats against Saudi Arabia came after the formation of new forces loyal to Riyadh from the hardline Salafi groups, the so-called “Dera Al-Watan” (Shield of Homeland), which received most of their training in Saudi camps, and part of it in the camps of “Tariq Afash” on the west coast.

Saudi Arabia seeks to replace these groups with pro-UAE factions in Aden, while Abu Dhabi-backed groups are demanding their replacement with Islah forces’ “First Military Region” forces in the districts of Wadi Hadramout, which Saudi Arabia rejects.
