Emir of Qatar donates 50 million riyals to earthquake victims in Turkey, Syria

WORLD, Feb. 11 (YPA) – Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Friday donated 50 million Qatari riyals ($14 million) to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

The donations in the relief campaign, “Aoun and Sanad” , for those affected by the earthquake in the two countries via live broadcast on Qatar TV, until 16:15 (GMT), reached 66 million Qatari riyals (about 18 million dollars).

On Monday, an earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter Scale struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, leaving thousands of deaths and injures.
