3.8 magnitude earthquake hits New York

WORLD, Feb. 07 (YPA) – An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter has struck New York State, according to the US Geological Survey.

Officials said the epicenter was near West Seneca.

The quake, which originated in Seneca, east of Buffalo, New York, and lasted only a few seconds, occurred about 3 kilometers underground.

The quake struck about two kilometers northeast of Seneca at 6:15 a.m., according to US Geological Survey officials.

According to media reports, no casualties or material damage have been reported.

It is worth noting that a huge earthquake killed more than 3,700 people across a swathe of Turkey and northwest Syria on Monday.
