UAE cut off communication network in Socotra island

SOCOTRA, Feb. 07 (YPA) – Local news in the occupied Socotra archipelago reported that UAE has shut down the National Telecommunications Network on the island.

The sources explained that UAE cut off the landline phone service to the Republic of Yemen on the island, in addition to Yemen mobile network, in favor of the UAE telecommunications network.

The sources confirmed that the national telecommunications network has completely stopped service since the beginning of this week, without explaining the reasons for the interruption by Yemeni telecommunications.

The sources pointed out that the Yemeni telecommunications service and the internet service have witnessed a wide deterioration in the island since June last year, amid news of the introduction of Saudi and Emirati telecommunications companies.
