Militants injured in Aden armed confrontations

ADEN, Feb. 02 (YPA) – Armed clashes broke out on Thursday in Al-Mualla district in Aden province, south of Yemen, injuring 2 militants.

Local residents said Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias and tribal gunmen clashed in the district, following a dispute over control of a park and its facilities, which caused widespread terror among the students of a school near the scene of the accident, after dozens of them fell into a state of fainting.

The residents explained that members of the STC-affiliated Security Belt militias stormed a house in the “Hafun” park in the district, following disputes over the ownership of the house belonging to the park workers.

They added that the members of STC militias were injured when a house’s owner detonated a gas cylinder during the storming of his house, which led to developing direct confrontations between the two sides.
