MARIB, Jan. 31 (YPA) – The Islah Party in the city of Marib refused on Tuesday to target al-Qaeda leaders in the province.
This came in the wake of the killing of a prominent leader in the al-Qaeda organization and a number of his companions in a new raid.
Abdullah bin Aboud al-Sharif, a son of the head of the Islah branch in Marib, attacked the American raid, claiming that it was a collective targeting of dozens of citizens who were standing in an queue with their cars near a gas station to be refueled.
Al-Sharif indicated that the raid was carried out without regard for the lives of hundreds who were present near the site of the raid.
Earlier, a US drone targeted the car of al-Qaeda leader Hassan al-Hadrami, killing him and a number of his companions inside Marib province.
The raid came a few days after a call made by the US Central Command, Michael Cole, to the Chief of Staff of the coalition-backed government forces, Sagheer bin Aziz.
Al-Qaeda is part of the ideological force of Islah Party, which has waged a war against the forces of Sanaa for the past years.
